How does it work ?

OZONE

is a natural purifier, 1000 times more powerful than chlorine when it comes to oxidizing (i.e. neutralizing) body oils and bacteries, that can rapidly develop in warm water.

Ozone (O³) exists of 3 oxigen atoms. In aqueous environments (read 'in your hot tub') the 3rd oxigen atom reacts with impurities in the water, thus eliminating them in the oxidation process, leaving only pure oxigen (O²) as by-product.

Ozone is used also in public pools, breweries and water purification plants.

IONIZATION

is the process of gaining or losing electrodes.

How can this be used for cleaning the water in your hot tub ?

In very basic terms we place an anode made of silver, copper and zinc in a chamber. The chamber is mounted in the recirculation system of your hot tub. A safe low voltage controller sends signals to the anode causing microscopic particles (ions) of silver, copper and zinc to be dispensed into the water as it passes through the chamber.

So, what do these ions do ?

Silver (Ag) ions kill over 650 types of bacteria, virues and protoza such as Legionella Pneumophila (legionnaire's disease)) streptococcus, E-coli, salmonella and most viruses. Silver has been successfully used in ailments such as acne, athlete's foot, herpes, lesions, posion oak, rashes, septic ulcers, sun spots, etc...

Copper (Cu) ions prevent algae growth. Copper is recognized as one of the best algaecides known to man, yet safe for humans.

Zink (Zn) ions stimulate healing of the skin and prevent stains and rings on the hot tub basin.

The combination of these 3 types -dispensed in the right relative quantity- offers an extremely efficient and controllable water management mechanism.
